Matāriki 2024

You're invited to be part of Celestial Corner's Matāriki craft market event alongside Kai, Music and Whanau.

Thursday June 27th, 6pm -9:30pm. At St Kevins Arcade.

What is Matariki?

Matariki is Te Mātahi o te Tau, otherwise known as Māori New Year.

Do I have to be Māori to join?

Kāore (no)! We welcome you to bring yourself and your taonga (crafts) to be a part of the market. Our intention is to celebrate Matāriki in community-focused festivities.

We want this Māori cultural celebration to be inclusive and welcoming for all with a focus on and platforming Māori and Pasifika makers alongside all those living in Aoetearoa, to join in and be part of Matāriki.

Is there a cost to join?

Celestial Corner's usual market fee has been discounted to $35 for this special event and applies to all non Māori and Pasifika makers. However, we have a limited number of stalls that we are offering to Māori and Pasifika makers at no cost, to tautoko (support) your involvement in our event. As always we provide your table and chairs - so all you need to do is bring along your taonga.

What's next?

If you would like to participate in this special market event, please fill in the form below and include your Instagram, Facebook, or Website if you have one, and a little about the crafts you make. Please also be sure to indicate if you are a Māori or Pasifika maker - and we will be in touch within 2 working days to confirm your attendance.

Applications close June 17th 2024.
